Turbulent Times! Reversal in your financial security. Home Foreclosure accompanied a job loss. Have you reached your stress threshold? Do you find methods previously used when at this point just don’t work anymore?
Is this the scene or one similar? Bills mounting, payment deadlines missed, plumbing breaks down, turns into a major problem; roots of the beautiful weeping willow tree have entwined the sewer line pipes to the house, tree must be cut down, major repair to sewer system, one of your car needs new tires; yesterday. You can’t afford to explode! What do people do, for heaven’s sake?
“Prayer played an integral part in my endurance through 2001, when I was out of work for 71/2 months altogether. Every morning, I would remind myself that God didn’t save me from an extremely rare and fatal childhood illness to be a failure. I’d then pray for a few minutes to be hopeful and somehow productive that day. Many days, I could feel a lift in morale and determination after praying.”
“It was the Friday after the 9/11 attack. I had to fly to Orange County, Calif. I didn’t really want to go, for obvious reasons. I really prayed for a good seatmate. I said: “Lord, please let me get over my anxiety about this flight. Let us all get there safely. .. And would you also give me a nice person to sit next to?”Turns out that the seatmate I was assigned also prayed a very similar prayer. We ended up sharing other prayers that were answered.”

*Develop an Infrastructure to Support a Prayer Attitude
Help us (me) Lord, to have the right attitude in this time of worship.
Save me from being cold in spirit.
Help me from being dull (of hearing and attention).
Distractions The current financial and job situation could cause you to be indifferent, mind wandering and callous to the Word of Scripture.
Lord, we (I) find it difficult to listen, to hear your Word clearly for there are so many voices competing for our (my) attention.

“Now may the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Romans 15:13
Isn’t hope what you need right now? Pray it back to yourself, “Lord, you are the God of hope, fill me with joy and peace in believing that I may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit” Amen
